Progress is a beautiful thing!

It’s been another busy week! The indoor is coming along nicely- and just in the nick of time since it’s now dark pretty much as soon as the kids get to the barn after school. ¬†Ok, not quite but it’s definitely a race against the clock! So this week we got the roof completed, 3 sides covered, the breezeway built and closed in- this weekend hopefully we will get the last side completed. The breezeway means no more having to go outside in bad weather- so we can stay warm and dry! It’s a luxury that we can’t wait to start using! Then its on to running copper for the lights!

Things at the farm have been sooo busy in the last 6 months, we haven’t had much time for updates! So it’s nearly Christmas again, and this picture looks alot like last years’ Christmas post! The pictures may look similar, but the first one is the barn, and this one is the new indoor arena! It will attached to the barn with a little breezeway that will include a viewing room for all of our wonderful parents to watch! It won’t be long now, we will definitely be riding in it before too long– so I guess it’s more of a Thanksgiving present. Stay tuned for more updates (now that it’s dark early we have some time to spare!).

Spring has sprung for the EEEF crowd!! The kids and the horses can’t wait to get back to work- they’ve all had a long winter off and are ready to get moving. Last Sunday brought a crew of kids to the farm to help get things organized so we can get this show on the road!

The barn looks amazing! Every thing is just beautiful!! The tack room is just about ready to go, and the message board is up so we all know what needs to be done.

Mary built a fancy new bridle rack- no more hooks to damage the leather! Lynette and crew got almost all the saddle racks hung, and brought most of the tack out of storage. Everything was cleaned and oiled before being hung.

Not the nicest weather for the end of March, but that didn’t stop them! The kids couldn’t wait to get back in the saddle! Mary rode the new guy, Moufassa, and he’s a keeper! The horses have enjoyed a long winter’s break, but they are ready to get back in shape. Hopefully the weather will allow the program to really get rolling, but if not we will steal whatever chances we can! Stay tuned…

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! And for a horse crazy kid, Christmas looks like this:

Our tack room and bathroom floor have been poured (atop a layer of insulation to help keep our toes warm!)- thanks to Jeff Prack, Woody and Robin for all their help! The kids are so excited to have a nice, new tack room with room for all their things. It’s amazing how much stuff we can collect for our four legged BFFs.

Ok, for ALL of us, this is pretty exciting. We have been working hard on getting the structure closed in before the real winter sets in so that we can work INSIDE throughout the cold weather season. The shell is *just* about complete, and it won’t be long before we are swinging the hammer inside, creating our new home.

Stay tuned to our exciting journey! It won’t be long now before the girls are picking which stall is the one for them :)
