Construction

It’s been a different kind of year for us- having just moved and not having the facility built yet.  Our kids have still managed to ride 5 to 6 days a week, both in the makeshift ring and out on the the fabulous new trails! We even managed to squeak in a week of camp- complete with daily rides and learning basic horsemanship skills.  Progress has been made over the summer, with the landscape changing basically every day. A huge amount of excavating has been done- many many thanks to Roy Banker and also to Robin Howes for their hard work!

Much of the work was centered around removing a small knoll from the property and leveling a large area that now houses the Outdoor ring. We have been using just half of the ring this summer, but when it’s complete the ring will measure a whopping 200′ by 151′.  We have brought in truck load after truck load of footing so far, with much more yet to come.

So far the kids are thrilled- even half the ring is larger than the ring at the old facility- just wait until they have the full size to play with! Can’t wait!
